Chasing Dreams Publishing has been working with authors across South Africa since 2016. Bridging the gap between vanity presses and traditional publishing, we work closely with graphic designers, editors and beta-readers to assist authors, artists and creatives with every aspect of publishing.
Our experience includes conceptualising, collaborating and creating South African flash fiction anthologies, fiction and poetry publications. We emphasise quality over quantity with a small team of dynamic individuals who pour their expertise and passion into a select number of author projects at a time.
Our mission is to facilitate authors on their publishing journey - from start to final release and beyond - dreams are worth investing in!
Nicolette established Chasing Dreams Publishing in 2016, when she saw a need for authors to have access to professional quality services at affordable rates.
With a background in corporate industry - from engineering to accounting, qualifications in editing and over 15 years of experience as a writer herself - her focus is on working with fiction writers to establish their careers as professional authors.
Her passion lies in developmental editing in fiction - taking a story from conception to publication with the author. With a particular love of flash fiction - the genre which started it all - she believes that anyone with a love for writing should be given the opportunity to chase their dreams.
Sasta Kuppan is a South African poet, author and entrepreneur who, from an early age, put pen to paper, taking the leap into open mic performances through Writer’s Bloc International, which led to national performances on various stages. She has performed on Gauteng radio stations, and several local and international online shows, including the Hear My Voice Poetry Relief Fund Webseries; Season 3 Episode 3, broadcasting her poetry to an expansive audience.
On the road to exploring spoken word, she delved deeper into her love for the written word. In 2018, her poetry – penned through various periods in her life – was published in her collection “Flaws and All”. The volume of poems is inspired by love and heartache, as well as the intricacies of belonging.
As an independently published author, Sasta ventured further into the world of literature, first joining Chasing Dreams Publishing as the Poetry Curator in June of 2019, and in July of 2020, she was appointed Director in the business.
Since 2020, Sasta has contributed to projects and productions such as On Cue Magazine, Homegrown-Radio's Homegrown Unplugged, Wanchaza Wealth Connections, Chat and Spin Radio in the UK, Appreciate a Mosali, a documentary by Nokuthula Media featured at the Rapid Lion Film Festival 2021, as well as the More Than Enough video series campaign by We Are Becoming, the latter of which highlight the strength that can be found in owning your divine femininity and how to live authentically in your story.
Sasta works closely with other creatives to empower them on their journey, but also to address difficult issues with beauty, compassion and understanding.
